Live at PACSUN New York
Grace performed for a live in-person audience for the first time since Jimmy Kimmel Live in March 2020. It was her first performance with access for the general public since the Wonderfront Festival in November 2019.
The performance took place at the PACSUN clothing store in SOHO, New York. A somewhat strange venue where many shoppers kept on shopping while Grace (whom they probably did not know or recognize) performed. Also, Grace was not accompanied by any of her usual band members, and there was no backing tape (with additional vocals). All in all quite an unusual performance for Grace.
The event was to kick off PACSUN's Back-to-School #MyDenimStory campaign. It was announced by Pacsun on SOME with the caption: "NYC! 🏙 join us this Tuesday from 5-9 pm at our Soho location to celebrate the launch of our new #pacdenim styles! We’ll have food + drink, denim customization, goodies from @reebok, a special performance from @gracevanderwaal, and so much more. 🎵 it’s open to the public, so tell your friends and don’t miss out!"
PACSUN apparently has live performances at the SOHO store from time to time, most notably from A$AP Rocky in December 2021. A$AP did have a design collab with PACSUN, though, and it was a surprise performance at a launch event from the line that came out of this collaboration.
