WE Day

Notes

WE Day is a community of young people who aren't afraid to dream big and support each other as they work together to make the world a kinder and more loving place," said singer, songwriter and 2016 winner of America's Got Talent, Grace VanderWaal. "I'm excited to join 18,000 of my peers at WE Day Minnesota—we may be young, but we're a force for good and will keep making a difference." (WE Day press release)

The show was presented by JoJo Siwa. Other performers were Vanessa Smith, Jessie Reyez, and the Kenyan boys choir.

We Day (stylized as WE Day) is an annual series of stadium-sized youth empowerment events organized by the WE Charity. WE Day was founded by brothers Marc and Craig Keilburger, empowering youth to help others. WE Day is, a loud, boisterous one-day philanthropy rally to reward and encourage young people to do some good in this world. (Vancouver Courier 24 Oct 2017)

WE Day events host tens of thousands of students and celebrate the impact they have made on local and global issues. You can’t buy a ticket to WE Day. Students earn their tickets by participating in the We Schools program, a year-long service-learning program run by We Charity. Each event features a lineup of social activists, speakers, and musical performances. (Wikipedia)
